Applications invited for Women’s and Girls’ Rugby League in 2023

Applications invited for Women’s and Girls’ Rugby League in 2023

2022 will be remembered as another breakthrough year for Women’s and Girls’ Rugby League – and applications are invited from new and existing clubs to join the bandwagon in 2023.

The RFL ran more Women’s and Girls competitions with more teams than ever in 2022 – and that was before the inspirational effect of the Rugby League World Cup, with England Women surging to the semi finals in front of a series of record crowds and seven-figure TV audiences.

The impact has already been obvious at the HeRLegacy series supported by the National Lottery, with hundreds of girls attracted to taster sessions across the north with stars of the England team.

Those sessions continue this week in Wigan, Huddersfield and Barrow - The Home of Rugby League (rugby-league.com)

And the RFL will again be offering a range of playing opportunities in 2023, from Under-11s to Open Age – structured and competitive leagues for established clubs, and merit style development for new clubs looking to start a female section.

The application deadline for both Leagues will be Friday 6th January 2023. The links can be found below.
