WHAT IS GIRLS RUGBY LEAGUE?

Girls Rugby League (GRL) is the RFL’s recognised Tier 4 competition for female youth and junior rugby league across the regions. Operating as part of the National Community Rugby League (NCRL) structure and under the auspices of the RFL, the league oversees all activity for players aged 11 to 18. Its purpose is to deliver a high-quality, well-administered competition that prioritises player development, safety, fairness, and inclusivity.

Guided by a dedicated Management Group acting on behalf of the RFL, the GRL supports clubs, volunteers, and match officials through clear governance, consistent standards, and a strong focus on growth and accessibility. The league also works closely with Primary Rugby League to ensure a smooth, development-focused pathway for young players entering the sport.
