Our League to show Bentley-Stanningley tie in Betfred Challenge Cup

Our League to show Bentley-Stanningley tie in Betfred Challenge Cup

Our League will kick off another busy year of live streaming with next Sunday’s Betfred Challenge Cup Round One tie between Bentley and Stanningley.

It will be the second of the weekend’s 14 First Round ties to be streamed, following the BBC’s coverage of Orrell St James versus the British Army on Saturday.

And watch out for details of coverage of a third tie to be confirmed this week.

Bentley will be hoping for a repeat of the result when they last featured on Our League, in the First Round of the 2020 Challenge Cup – when they earned an 18-10 win against the RAF in an enjoyable occasion at RAF Cranwell in Lincolnshire.

They also beat West Bank Bears in the Second Round before their Cup run was ended by Leigh Miners Rangers – who had already beaten Stanningley in a 28-26 thriller in the First Round.

Next Sunday’s game will kick off at 2pm and will be played at Wheatley Hills RUFC, which will be Bentley’s base throughout 2022 – when they will be playing in the National Conference League for the first time in their history.

The ambitious club on the outskirts of Doncaster have strong links to the town’s professional club as Doncaster prepares to host three men’s fixtures in this autumn’s Rugby League World Cup at the recently renamed Eco-Power Stadium.

Both Bentley and Stanningley - an established, respected and admired NCL club who have close links to numerous Super League stars such as Jamie Peacock, Jamie Jones-Buchanan and Ashton Golding – have received grants from the RLWC’s CreatedBy Capital Grants Programme.

Bentley received £14,000 towards the cost of improving playing experience, by installing new goalposts, purchasing a new mower, line marker and fencing, while Stanningley received £8,300 towards refurbishment of their changing rooms.
