The road to Australia continues for the PDRL England Community Lions, with preparations already well underway as the team looks ahead to defending their title on the international stage.
While the final whistle of the domestic season at the hugely anticipated Grand Day Out marked the end of one chapter, it also marked the beginning of another for the PDRL England Community Lions, who will now step up their preparations ahead of their return to Australia.
With a World Cup title to defend, the squad will be working hard both on and off the field as they build towards the international tournament. Over the coming months, supporters will have the opportunity to get closer to the players who make up this unique and inspirational team, learning more about their Rugby League journeys, their disabilities and the experiences that have helped shape them as individuals and athletes.
At the heart of the PDRL England Community Lions is the continued growth and impact of Physical Disability Rugby League (PDRL). The sport provides an opportunity for players with physical disabilities to compete, develop their skills and represent their country, while also creating a strong sense of community and belonging.
The PDRL Lions are a powerful example of what PDRL represents. Their determination, commitment and pride in wearing the England jersey demonstrate that disability should never be a barrier to participation, achievement or sporting ambition.
