The RFL & NIXI Body announce partnership in support of inaugural Female Health Coaching Programme in Rugby League

Today, the RFL is incredibly excited to announce a partnership with NIXI Body leakproof underwear. This collaboration brings together the RFL’s mission of creating better experiences for females in sport and NIXI Body’s proven capability of ensuring that women and girls can keep moving through menstruation, without fear of their period and leaks.

This partnership is designed to support women and girls in Rugby League. By establishing this partnership, the RFL and NIXI Body will be able to provide coaches with the knowledge and supplies to combat issues such as pain, shame, and fears around period leaks. Providing young women with more period positivity by breaking taboos, sharing menstrual health knowledge, and offering them a discreet, comfortable period care option they can use every day of their cycle.

NIXI Body will play an instrumental role in delivering period education on selected coaching sessions of the programme.

The Female Health Programme is now available to purchase for those who missed out on the 2026 courses.

Ellis Pascall, the RFL’s Coach Development Officer, said: “At the RFL, we are incredibly proud to welcome with NIXI Body on the Female Health Programme as a partner. Women and girls deserve environments where they feel understood, supported and confident to participate in Rugby League and sport. NIXI Body will be an influential and key contributor to making this possible through the Female Health Programme.

“With the help of NIXI Body, we will be able to equip coaches with the tools and knowledge to tackle any stigmatisation around menstruation and ensure that periods and leaks do not pose as a barrier for women and girls in Rugby League.”

Coni Longden-Jefferson, NIXI Body's Co-Founder said: "We're thrilled to be partnering with the RFL on the Female Health Programme. Too many women and girls have quietly dropped out of sport because of period fear - the worry of leaks, the discomfort, the shame nobody talks about.

"At NIXI Body, we exist to take that fear out of the equation with both our products and our educational offering, so periods are never the reason a girl sits out of training or a match. It's so encouraging to see the RFL taking the needs of their female athletes so seriously, working alongside RFL coaches to bring real menstrual health education into Rugby League is exactly the kind of change we set out to create, and we can't wait to see the impact on the pitch."
