The Women's National Championship & Northern League One Grand Finals are here!

This weekend, two exciting Grand Finals will take place across the Women’s League, featuring the top the absolute best of the top leagues in the women’s division. 

Women’s National Championship League Leaders, Manchester Swinton Lionesses will host the highly anticipated Women’s National Championship Grand Final against London Broncos with a home advantage, following an undefeated run throughout the 2026 season. 

The Lionesses have excelled this season, claiming the Challenge Shield title for a historic second year and denying former Women’s Super League competitors Warrington Wolves the Shield and opportunity for promotion during the Women’s National Championship semi-finals.  

Manchester Swinton Lionesses will now look to go one step further to guarantee their place at the 2026 Women’s Promotion Play-Off Final, which will take place on Sunday 27th September and forming part of a double-header with the Betfred Women's Super League Grand Final at The Brick Community Stadium.

London Broncos, however, are no stranger to reaching a final. The Broncos have narrowly missed out in the later stages of their journey to promotion to the Women’s Super League over the last two years, falling short against Northern sides Leigh Leopards and Featherstone Rovers. 

Following a convincing win against rivals Cardiff Demons during the Women’s National Championship semi-finals, London Broncos Women will be determined to make sure that the third time is indeed a charm that allows them to finally progress and historically represent the Southern region at an elite level. 

Women’s National Championship Grand Final details: 

Manchester Swinton Lionesses vs London Broncos 

Date: Sunday 20th September 

Venue: Ince Rose Bridge Sports & Community Club, Pinfold St, Wigan WN2 2DZ 

Kick-off: 2pm

Adding to the action and representing the talent across the Women’s division will be the Northern League 1 Grand Final.

The Northern League 1 Grand Final will see two of the best team's clash in a thrilling encounter at the DIY Kitchens Stadium. Wakefield Trinity will host Workington Town to earn promotion into the Women's National Championship next season.  

The two teams have been standout contenders for the final, having both experienced a strong 2026 season campaign. Wakefield will go into the League 1 Grand Final full of confidence, after an unbeaten league season, winning nine of their ten games. Their only draw of the season, coming against Workington Town a few months ago.  

Wakefield Trinity will be looking to go one further than their efforts last season, whereby they narrowly lost out in the Grand Final to Widnes Vikings. They are no stranger to meeting Workington Town at the latter stages of the competition, with the two sides facing each other in the semi-final last season.  

Workington Town will be full of energy and optimism, having also had a strong 2026 season, losing only 2 of their league fixtures. The team have been on the up since being promoted from League 2 two seasons ago and have made their mark in the Women's League with an impressive rise. Sunday's Final is not one to be missed, and spectators are encouraged to come down to support.
