Registration is now open for the England Universities Rugby League Regional Trials, with all players having ambitions to play for England in 2026 invited to register.
Last year England managed a clean sweep, winning a third consecutive RFL President’s Cup for the first time, with victories over GB Teachers and UK Armed Forces before victory in the Student Rugby League Four Nations with wins over Ireland, Wales and Scotland at the event staged in Nottingham.
This year will see England again compete in the RFL President’s Cup and the Student Rugby League Four Nations, with fixtures taking place over April, May and June 2026.
The pathway to England starts with selection for the region in which a student is studying, with a round of inter-regional games. All three games will take place at Sheffield Hallam University Sports Park on Saturday 6th December 2025 - the fixtures are yet to be confirmed, but will kick off at 1.30pm, 3.30pm and 5.30pm.
Following the inter-regional games, players are selected for their Origin side with Midlands, South East and South West aligning to the South, and North West, North East and Yorkshire aligning to the North. The University Origin Match takes place in February with the exact date and venue to be confirmed.
Trials and training for the six regional sides will take place on the weekends of 22nd/23rd and 29th/30th November, with precise details to be communicated to players as they register.
