GAME ON! ALL SET FOR ANOTHER BLOCKBUSTER WEEKEND

Four teams stand 80 minutes from Old Trafford ahead of the most talked-about weekend of the 2025 Betfred Super League season.

Play-Off Semi Finals at Wigan’s Brick Community Stadium on Friday night, followed by Hull KR’s Sewell Group Craven Park on Saturday, will determine the line-up for the 28th Super League Grand Final on Saturday October 11.

Two home wins would confirm a repeat of the 2024 title decider, when Matt Peet’s Wigan Warriors shattered Hull KR on their Grand Final debut courtesy of a spectacular try from Bevan French – who became the first player to win the Rob Burrow Award as player of the match.

But Leigh Leopards in the Battle of the Borough on Friday night, and St Helens at Hull KR on Saturday, will be determined to change that script.

The 2025 Betfred Super League season kicked off with an historic 1-0 victory for the Leopards over their fierce local rivals at The Brick – after the teams had been introduced by legendary boxing announcer Michael Buffer.

Can Adrian Lam’s team do it again – and secure the club’s first-ever Grand Final appearance?

That game will be live and exclusive on Sky Sports, with bumper viewing figures expected after a lively build-up.

Then on Saturday at 530pm, the Hull KR v St Helens clash will be shown live on both Sky Sports and BBC Two .

And after Saints’ incredible win at Leeds Rhinos in the first round of the Play-Offs last weekend, when Shane Wright scored one of the most dramatic tries in Super League history to snatch victory from the jaws of defeat, who would write off the Saints now?

The action doesn’t end there, as Sunday sees two Grand Finals – with York Knights hosting Toulouse Olympique in the Betfred Championship decider at 2pm (live on The Sportsman), before attention returns to The Brick as Wigan Warriors host St Helens in the Betfred Women’s Super League Grand Final.

That game will also be live on Sky Sports, as Wigan aim to complete a clean sweep of titles after their historic win over the Saints at Wembley Stadium in the Betfred Women’s Challenge Cup Final in June.

This weekend continues the momentum of a record breaking Super League season - with record-breaking attendances, strong viewing figures across broadcast platforms, and some of the most compelling rugby league action in recent memory. The semi-finals this weekend mark the final step towards what promises to be an unforgettable Grand Final on Saturday 11 October.

Rhodri Jones, Managing Director of RL Commercial, said: “The Betfred Super League play-offs are always special. Last weekend was memorable, and this weekend’s fixtures are set to showcase everything that makes our competition so exciting – passionate rivalries, world-class talent, and incredible support from fans.

We’ve seen fantastic growth across the season, both in stadiums and through our broadcast partners, and the atmosphere this weekend in Wigan and East Hull will be another reflection of that. With Old Trafford on the horizon, the stage is perfectly set for a thrilling conclusion to what has been a great season so far.”
