The best of the Betfred Women’s Super League (BWSL) will face off at Boundary Park in Oldham on Saturday 18 October (KO 2pm) as part of England Women’s preparations for the 2026 Rugby League World Cup.
England Women Head Coach, Stuart Barrow, will announce squads representing Lancashire and Yorkshire following the conclusion of the BWSL next Sunday (5 October).
Earlier this year, Lancashire celebrated a dominant 50-8 victory over their rivals at Sewell Group Craven Park.
Yorkshire had got things off to an explosive start when a kick from reigning Woman of Steel Georgie Dagger was captured by Phoebe Hook who ran onto the ball to cross for the first try of the game in the opening minutes.
But there was an immediate response from Lancashire through Eva Hunter, and this continued throughout the game with Lancashire walking away 1-0 up in this year’s Origin series with the White Rose now looking for revenge.
England Women Head Coach, Stuart Barrow, said: “We’ve had another fantastic season in the Betfred Women’s Super League, everyone is looking forward to the Grand Final next Sunday and watching the top two teams in this year’s competition battle it out in what is sure to be a close game.
“Our fixture at Boundary Park is exactly a year until the opening game of the 2026 Women’s Rugby League World Cup so this will be a perfect opportunity to get the best players from the Super League to come together and showcase their skill and talent whilst representing either Lancashire or Yorkshire.
“Our game against Wales in August featured four debutantes and I’m expecting a few more new faces to be part of this fixture.”
Next weekend will see Wigan Warriors take on St Helens in the Betfred Women’s Super League Grand Final at The Brick Community Stadium – live on Sky Sports (KO 5.30pm) with tickets available here.
The Lancashire versus Yorkshire clash will be streamed live on the England Rugby League YouTube channel with entry to Boundary Park free on October 18.
