Betfred League One Preview | 8/9 July

Betfred League One returns this weekend, with another round of four fixtures set to take place across the third tier.

The weekend’s action gets underway on Saturday afternoon when London Skolars host Cornwall at the New River Stadium.

London head into the game looking to pick up their first win of 2023 knowing a win would put them level on points with Cornwall, whilst the Choughs will be searching for their first win since their 35-10 triumph against the Skolars back in March.

On Sunday, Oldham return to action when they welcome North Wales Crusaders to the Vestacare Stadium.

The Roughyeds’ meeting with Workington Town was postponed last weekend when a major incident on the M6 severely disrupted the visitors’ travel arrangements.

Oldham won the last meeting between the sides 18-4 in March.

North Wales will be full of confidence, however, after defeating Oldham’s local rivals Rochdale Hornets 32-24 at Chester RFU last time out.

The Hornets will have a chance to respond this coming weekend, but standing in their way is fifth placed Workington.

Town head into the clash as favourites, having won their last six meetings against Rochdale. The visitors have not beaten Workington since July 2011, and have not won away at Workington since May of the same year.

Finally, Midlands Hurricanes face off against Hunslet at Derby RFC. The Hurricanes ran league leaders Dewsbury Rams close last weekend and will be hoping to produce a similar battling display this time out.

Midlands have won the last two fixtures between the sides.
