The independent Operational Rules Tribunal on the evening of Tuesday June 20 made the following decisions.
Kai O’Donnell of Leigh Leopards was suspended for six matches and fined £1,000 after being sent off in the Betfred Challenge Cup Quarter Final against York Knights. O’Donnell was found guilty of a Grade F Dangerous Throw, with the ORT rejecting Leigh’s challenge against the grading.
The ORT upheld the one-match suspension imposed by the Match Review Panel on Zak Hardaker of Leigh Leopards for a Grade C Dangerous Throw in the same cup tie at York. Again, Leigh’s challenge against the grading was rejected – and the club forfeit their £500 bond.
Josh Griffin of Hull FC was suspended for seven matches and fined £1,000 after being sent off in the Betfred Challenge Cup Quarter Final agains St Helens. Griffin pleaded Guilty to Questioning Integrity of a Match Official but the grading was found to be correct and the ban upheld.
Salford Red Devils Academy's Jordan Brown was banned for five games for a Grade E punching and was also fined £50.
