Marc Darcy - the right fit for England Rugby League

Marc Darcy - the right fit for England Rugby League

England Rugby League have ensured a sharp off-field look for the forthcoming Rugby League World Cup thanks to a new formalwear partnership with Marc Darcy.

The Salford-based outfitters were recently crowned Menswear Brand of the Year at the 2022 Drapers Independents Awards at Grosvenor House in London.

Kallum Watkins and Herbie Farnworth, who formed an impressive new centre partnership in England’s warm-up match against Fiji in Salford on Friday night, were the first to try on the suits for a photoshoot.

“It was a bit different, modelling a suit rather than a rugby kit,” said Watkins. “The suit felt great – we’re looking forward to wearing them during the World Cup. And for me as a Salford player, it’s great to know we’ve got the backing of Marc Darcy, a Salford company.”

Mark Foster, the RFL’s Chief Commercial Officer, said: “We are delighted to have agreed this formalwear partnership with Marc Darcy for the Rugby League World Cup. The tournament will lift Rugby League to unprecedented levels of exposure, so it’s more important than ever that our teams look smart, stylish and professional, on and off the field.”

Chan Johal, Marc Darcy’s Managing Director, said: We are delighted to be partnering with England Rugby League for the upcoming World Cup. We are proud to have provided our signature suits to the team and look forward to supporting them throughout the tournament. We wish them the best of luck!”
