York City Knights control their destiny after sealing a perfect record at home with a 33-10 victory over Wigan Warriors.
Group 1 side Knights sit two points clear of Leeds Rhinos, who they’ll face in a final-match thriller on August 28 to determine who gets to lift the League Leaders’ Shield.
Savannah Andrade ensured her side got off to an early lead, crossing the whitewash on five minutes before Tara Jane Stanley converted.
The visitors extended their lead through a try from Hollie Dodd before Stanley got one of her own, punishing Wigan for a handling error but pinging the post in her attempt to add the extras.
Laureane Biville and Georgia Wilson ensured Warriors were within six at the break, but Knights centre Emma Kershaw soon extended the hosts’ lead.
Tries from co-captain Katie Langan and Daisy Sanderson put the game away and moved Knights one step closer to sealing the shield.
Elsewhere, Warrington Wolves dominated their Group 2 meeting with Barrow Raiders Ladies, winning their home clash 72-6.
Castleford Tigers played out a much closer contest with Leigh Miners Rangers Ladies, sealing their first victory of the season 14-8.
Featherstone Rovers walked away with a clean sheet after beating Bradford Bulls 50-0, while Cardiff Demons’ Saturday meeting with Army RL ended in a 30-16 victory for the Welsh side.
