Greater Manchester Player Development Festival success

Greater Manchester Player Development Festival success

Saturday 21st May saw Carrington Training Ground played host to the first Greater Manchester Rugby League Player Development Festival of the year. The Swinton Lions Foundation hosted the festival, and the helping hand of staff and academy players from the Salford Red Devils Foundation offered welcome support on the day.

Over 200 people were in attendance as Under 12s and Under 14s teams entered from Wilmslow, Stockport Red Devils, Bolton Red Devils, Manchester Lions and South Trafford Raiders.

A thrilling day of Rugby League was capped off with the opportunity for every participant to head over to Swinton Lions’ Betfred League One fixture against Cornwall that same afternoon, which was streamed live on Our League.

The next GMRL Player Development festival will be held at the AJ Bell Stadium on Friday 10th June, ahead of Salford Red Devils’ Betfred Super League fixture against Wigan Warriors.
