This Saturday (26th September), Victoria Park in Warrington will host the 2026 North West Men’s League Grand Finals, with three divisional titles to be decided across the day.
The action begins with the Division 2 Grand Final at 11am, followed by the Division 1 decider at 1pm and the Premier Division showpiece at 3pm.
Division 2 – 11am KO – Thatto Heath Crusaders Academy v Latchford Albion Giants
Thatto Heath Crusaders Academy completed an undefeated league campaign to finish top of Division 2 before overcoming Portico Vine 22-18 in a closely contested semi-final.
They will face host club Latchford Albion Giants, who finished second in the division and secured their Grand Final place with an impressive 42-12 victory over Saddleworth Rangers A.
Thatto Heath came out on top in both league meetings between the sides, although there was little to separate them on either occasion. Latchford will now hope that home advantage can help them reverse those results when the teams meet for a third time.
Division 1 – 1pm KO – Salford City Roosters v Garswood Stags
Just one competition point separated Salford City Roosters and Garswood Stags at the top of Division 1, with Salford narrowly claiming the League Leaders’ Shield.
The Roosters progressed to the Grand Final with a convincing 32-4 victory over Newton Storm, while Garswood produced an equally emphatic performance to defeat Golborne Parkside 54-12.
The teams won one game apiece when they met during the league campaign, with both fixtures closely fought. After finishing first and second in the table, Saturday’s meeting provides a fitting conclusion to an extremely competitive title race.
Premier Division – 3pm KO – West Bank Bears v Halton Farnworth Hornets
The final game of the day will be a local derby between two Widnes-based clubs, as second-placed West Bank Bears take on Halton Farnworth Hornets, who finished fourth in the Premier Division.
West Bank booked their place in the Grand Final by defeating Folly Lane 34-18, while Halton Farnworth produced the shock of the semi-finals with a dramatic 22-20 victory over previously undefeated League Leaders’ Shield winners Hindley Stags.
There was little between Saturday’s finalists during the regular season, with both sides recording one narrow victory from their two league meetings. With local bragging rights as well as the Premier Division title at stake, another close contest looks likely at Victoria Park.
