Lenny Izzard was Warrington Wolves' leading light on Saturday despite his side falling to a 68-28 defeat at North Wales Crusaders. Izzard was the only England squad member on show in the fixture and showed his star quality with a hat-trick of tries. 

On Sunday, Wigan Warriors continued their fine 2022 with a 90-36 defeat of Hull FC at home, the Warriors are now top of the league.

Declan Roberts was in top form once again as he scored a remarkable nine tries and 15 goals from 15 attempts for a 66-point personal haul in a successful afternoon. Fellow England squad member Martin Norris also scored four tries for the home side.

Hull FC's worked hard for their points and were led by player-coach Billy Swainger, the club's only current England squad member, who scored a try and four goals for his side.

Also on Sunday, London Roosters inflicted Halifax Panthers' first defeat of the season, winning 40-30 away from home.

They were six points down at half time in an epic battle with England's Lewis King leading the charge with four tries for London.

Rob Hawkins was in impressive form for Halifax as he recorded two tries and five goals on the day, alongside a try for Wayne Boardman.

Joe Coyd grabbed a brace for the Roosters in a memorable afternoon for his side.
