BUCS Big Wednesday returns

BUCS Big Wednesday returns

After two years of pandemic-enforced postponements, BUCS Big Wednesday is back! With it comes the Rugby League finals, where University of Hull clash with University of Birmingham for the Men’s National Trophy at 11am.

Following what should be an enthralling start to the day, the Men's National Championship is on the line as Northumbria University take on Leeds Beckett University.

It promises to be a gripping finale to the competition as both sides enjoyed dominant performances on their path to BUCS Big Wednesday - Northumbria won their quarter-final 80-0, while Leeds Beckett ran out 76-6 victors.

Neither side showed any signs of slowing down in the semi-finals, either as Northumbria hosted BUCS powerhouse Loughborough University, and ran out 52-6 winners after a dominant display, while Leeds Beckett secured their place in the final after an impressive 48-4 victory against Newcastle University.

Both sides, who could well boast semi-professional talent amongst their ranks tomorrow, will fancy themselves after such impressive performances, and with confidence brimming amongst both squads, we’re set for a thriller. The final kicks off at 14:30, and you can catch it live on the BUCS YouTube channel here
