Jai Field scored a hat-trick of tries in a Player of the Match performance as Wigan Warriors eased past Leeds Rhinos 34-12 at home on Friday night.
Leeds did get off to a perfect start as Blake Austin dummied his way over, Aidan Sezer goaling for a 6-0 lead after 11 minutes, but Wigan would hit back with five tries without reply thereafter.
Field helped turn the tide with a score on 24 minutes, converting his own try, followed by a try he agains goaled himself just before half time which gave them a 12-6 interval lead.
They turned on the style just after the restart, scoring three tries in the space of seven minutes to take control.
Sam Powell scored his first on 45 minutes, before Field completed his hat-trick in style - collecting a Patrick Mago offload straight from kick off to score a length-of-the-field try on 47 minutes.
Zak Hardaker converted both tries to give the home side a convincing 28-6 lead with 52 minutes played.
Though Sezer converted a Matt Prior try on the hour mark, Leeds never looked like launching a serious comeback and Liam Farrell rounded off the scoring as the minutes ticked down to full time.
Hardaker added the goal to make it 34-12 to Matt Peet's men, which is how it stayed when the final hooter arrived.
