Barrow win again to stay top of Betfred League 1

Barrow Raiders kept themselves out in front at the top of Betfred League 1 with a 31-6 victory over Doncaster.

Ryan Johnston scored a try in each half while Jamie Dallimore, Jarrad Stack and Jordan Walne all crossed in a dominant performance from the Raiders, who led 19-0 at the break.

Bradley Foster's try got Doncaster on the board early in the second half, but they never looked like getting back into the contest as they lost for only the second time this season.

But Workington Town remained second and underlined their determination to keep the pressure on with a 66-0 rout of the winless West Wales Raiders.

Two tries from Ethan Bickerdike and further scores from Caine Barnes, Matty Henson and Jake Moore had Workington 34-0 to the good by half-time, and the punishment kept coming after the break.

Bickerdike would complete his hat-trick while Hanley Dawson, Dec O'Donnell, Joe Brown and Blaine Marwood added to the scores.

Neither Keighley Cougars nor Hunslet could capitalise on Doncaster's defeat as both fell to narrow defeats on the road.

North Wales Crusaders held off a second-half fightback to beat Keighley 26-12, while Hunslet blew a 28-10 half-time lead to lose 46-44 away to Coventry Bears.

Hunslet looked to be cruising as they led 44-22 after Matty Chrimes completed his hat-trick in the 63rd minute.

But the Bears completed a remarkable comeback with four converted tries in the last 12 minutes, two from Jack Dawson, one from Dave Scott and the winning score from Kieran Sherratt.

Lewis Sheridan crossed twice while Shaun Robinson and Tom Whur also touched down as Rochdale Hornets beat London Skolars 22-4.
