North West Festival eagerly awaited

North West Festival eagerly awaited

Masters clubs around the country are preparing to descend on Crosfields in Warrington next Saturday 12th August 1pm KO.

The festival is another great occasion where Masters players from across Cumbria, Lancashire, Yorkshire, the Midlands and the South get together to play, wax lyrical about their exploits and socialise in the friendly atmosphere of the Crosfields clubhouse!

Fifteen clubs have currently registered and there is still room for others and for individuals to attend on the day.

Last weekend, some of the Great Britain Masters Tourists, who are travelling down under to New Zealand and Australia in November, got together to play Hull Dockers Masters and have a social evening out in Hull. An excellent game of Masters was the result with some open Rugby League being played.

The two highlights of the day were the 60 metre try from GB Tourist Gold shorter Steve Donkersley's - with no defender able to catch him and remove his tags – and 69-year-old Geoff Kealty taking to the field to play after a 31-year break!
