The RFL, working alongside the England Masters Lionhearts staff, are delighted to confirm the squad for 2026.
Following the success of the 2025 event, which saw England proudly host a memorable Masters Rugby League occasion, preparations are now underway for this year’s representative fixture. The 2026 event will take place in Edinburgh on Saturday 31st October where England will face Scotland.
Masters Rugby League is not about the result on the scoreboard. It is about camaraderie, inclusion, wellbeing, friendship and the pride that comes from pulling on a community club and England shirt. For many players, representing their country is a once-in-a-lifetime moment, and the coaching team are committed to ensuring that every selected player enjoys and values that experience.
The selection process for 2026 has once again highlighted the strength and depth of Masters Rugby League across the country. With 72 nominations received, selecting a balanced squad has been both a privilege and a challenge. Players have been considered for their attitude, commitment, sportsmanship, team values and the positive contribution they can make to the England Masters Lionhearts environment.

England Masters Lionhearts are also pleased to welcome Geoff Grieves to the role of England Team Manager. His experience, knowledge and support will be a valuable addition as the squad prepares for the upcoming international festival.
Looking ahead, nominations for the 2027 England Masters programme are now open, giving players across the Masters Rugby League community the opportunity to put themselves forward for future representative honours.
The backroom staff are now focused on building on the success of 2025, preparing professionally, and creating an environment where players can perform, enjoy the experience and make lasting memories.
England Masters Rugby League would also like to recognise the continued support of its sponsor, Cobus and are working with two further potential sponsors who are looking to come on board in 2026, whose contribution helps make these opportunities possible.
