Shevington Sharks are this week's rugby-league.com Club of the Week, after celebrating a week of huge success.
The Wigan club enjoyed good news for its home base, Open Age team and in securing funding for the future.
After a protracted start, work on new pitches has started in Vicarage Lane, which, on completion, will give the club a base within Shevington.
Meanwhile, the Open Age team remained unbeaten throughout May, as well as making it to the quarter-finals of the North-West Men's League Cup.
The club also hosted a huge fun day on Saturday, with huge numbers turning out to play, while Wigan Warriors stars Anthony Gelling, Dom Manfredi and Sam Tomkins all paid a visit.
The Sharks have also renewed their groundbreaking sponsorship deal with IKO PLC, a global roofing, waterproofing and insulation manufacturer, with a UK head office based locally in Appley Bridge.
Over the last three years, IKO has supported the Sharks with funding, ensuring the development of the teams and allowing the club to deliver sports sessions in local schools, in particular Rugby League.

IKO's Roofing Specification Sales Director, Ashley Chivers, commented: "The deal is a perfect fit for IKO, and means we can put something back into the community, on top of the links already established with schools and academies who benefit from our UK manufactured waterproofing solutions.
Sharks Chairman, Ian Robinson, said: "The new base within Shevington and the continuing highly successful partnership with IKO means the club can continue to grow and invest, thus providing people of all ages and abilities the opportunity to play sport."
The above, coupled with the highly successful junior set-up, ensures that the club is increasing the number of people playing Rugby League at all levels in Wigan and the surrounding area.
