Betfred League 1 outfit Ottawa Aces have signed half-back Tom Gilmore from Halifax ahead of the 2021 season.
Gilmore has spent the majority of his career with hometown club Widnes Vikings for whom he featured in Super League and Championship between 2012 and 2019. The 26-year-old joined Halifax ahead of the 2020 season.
Tom Gilmore said: “I am delighted to have been given the opportunity to be part of the Ottawa Aces project.
“After speaking with Laurent, and his passion for the club made me want to be part of this as well. I am very much looking forward to getting over to Ottawa to meet all the fans and bring them an exciting and expansive style of rugby that I’m sure they will get excited about.”
Ottawa Aces Head Coach, Laurent Frayssinous, said: “I am pleased to have Tom on board with us next season. He is a fantastic player, and a great person.
“At only 26, he already has a good amount of experience playing at the highest level. He has a great kicking game; great skills and he is a natural leader that can boss the team around the park.
“I am looking forward to working with Tom next season.”
Gilmore will join French half-back Louis Jouffret in Ottawa next season.
