Spring View join Masters Rugby League

Spring View join Masters Rugby League

Wigan now has three active Masters Rugby League teams as Spring View, resplendent in their brand new kit, Masters took to the field in their first ever game at local neighbours, Wigan St Judes. The wet and cold afternoon was warmed by the great Spirit of Masters shown by both teams.

St Judes is a very experienced Masters team and Judes players were very helpful to the Spring View players, some in their first outing. The standard of Rugby League was high - until the last ten minutes when cold hands led to a spate of knock ons. For the record, Lee Brindle scored Spring View's first-ever try.

Spring View coach, Sean Long, was happy to get the lads out playing as they have been training together every week. “It is great to play and for us all to learn about Masters Rugby League a d its etiquette.” He added “ it's been a pleasure to get together with this group of lads! Looking forward to playing regularly in 2019.”
