The number of nominations per community club, BARLA county programme or college will not be restricted.

Speaking on the process, Head Coach, Allan Coleman commented: "The England Community Lions Youth offers an opportunity to showcase the best of the community game, giving players the opportunity to demonstrate their talent and ability.

"We found the selection process for the 2018 programme tough, and I already know that this selection will be even harder, with a much wider scope of players to select from and more opportunities to see the lads train and play.

"The focus has got to be on the Under-19s European Championships 2020 and giving ourselves and the players the best opportunities to develop and grow as a team, with the aim of building on what we achieved this year (making it into the final).

RFL Director of Development, Marc Lovering, added: "The England Community Lions programmes represent cream of the community game, bringing the best amateur players within England and demonstrating the talent and ability which flows throughout the community game."

"The Youth programme offers us the chance to give young players opportunities and experiences which they otherwise may never had, whilst representing their country.

"The RFL is committed to the retention of players, and the growth of the community game. For me, the Lions programmes, especially Youth, will be significant in achieving this. The community game at youth level still has a great deal to offer and the Lion’s programme is an example of this.

"It was great to experience the support the Under-19s got throughout the European Championships and Home Nations 2018 and I am excited to see the next generation of players come through the programme."
