Coral Challenge Cup Round One - Sunday wrap-up

Sherwood Wolf Hunt enjoyed a winning Coral Challenge Cup debut with a dramatic 26-24 home win over Wests Warriors.

Wests led 20-16 at half time and were still 24-20 up in the dying stages, but a late try for the hosts saw them progress.

The Nottingham side, who qualified as a result of being crowned Midlands RL champions in 2019, were roared on by a strong crowd of 421 in Nottinghamshire.

Elsewhere, Irish side Longhorns put in a stirring effort as they slipped to a 30-24 defeat at the hands of Normanton Knights in West Yorkshire, and Great Britain Police were big winners in Rochdale - they produced a 66-0 win over Torfaen Tigers who made the trip from South Wales.

Finally, the Our League cameras were in attendance as a cracker unfolded between The RAF and visiting Bentley.

Bentley were eventual 18-10 winners having led 10-4 at the break, fending off countless attacks on their line to hold on for the win.

The second round draw will take place on Tuesday at 6.30pm, broadcast live on BBC Radio Leeds.
