Summary of CM's submissions on the Charge / evidence:

Mr Yei was sin binned following the tackle.
• The Referees report stated the following:
“Leigh are attacking the Featherstone line and McKenzie Yei comes in to make a tackle, he lifts
the Leigh player into a dangerous position, and he lands on his shoulder.”
• Mr Yei, the Match Review Panel submit can be seen to lift his opponent into a ‘Dangerous
Position’ as defined in the Laws of the Game.
• Using the factors set out in the guidance note the Panel note the following:
o Mr Yei goes to ground with the ball carrier.
o The ball carrier is significantly lifted above the ground.
o The ball carrier’s hips have been turned almost 180 degrees
o Mr Yei is in control of the tackle and unnecessarily lifts the opponent into a dangerous
position.
o The ball carrier lands on his head, neck and shoulder.
• Based on the above factors the Match Review Panel felt this necessitated a Grade E charge in
line with the guidance note.

Decision:

Appropriately graded at Grade E
The MRP consider 4 match suspension is appropriate – offence worth 5 GP and his record
£375.
