After twelve regular rounds and the Play-Off Semi Finals, the 2026 Cumbria Men’s League season comes to an exciting conclusion on Saturday 26th September when the Premier Division and Division One Grand Finals are held at Lowca ARLFC in Whitehaven.
Division One
Starting the day, the Division One Grand Final will see Aspatria Hornets take on Egremont Rangers A at 1pm.
With the Hornets claiming their first Open Age silverware in 40+ years by being crowned League Leaders, they will certainly be looking to add to it on Saturday, whilst their opponents, Egremont Rangers A, will obviously be looking to spoil the party.
When the teams have met in the League this season, both teams secured victories when they were the home team. Aspatria won 40-28 in April, but then Egremont got their revenge later in the year with a 34-28 victory.
Who will come out on top when at a neutral venue?
Premier Division
Bringing down the curtain on the Cumbria Men’s League season, sees the top two teams from the Premier Division do battle at 3pm when Askam play Wath Brow Hornets A.
There has been nothing between the sides all season, with both teams finishing with the same record of 11 wins and one defeat.
As you can imagine, the defeats were against each other, Askam winning 44-18 at Home in June, whilst WBH A were victorious 20-12 in August.
The pair also met in the Cup Semi-
Finals, with WBH A progressing to the Final with a 30-6 scoreline. As the season has been so closely contested, it came down to a head-to-head record that saw Barrow based Askam pip their West Cumbria counterparts to the League Leaders' Shield.
Both games will be played at West Croft Terrace, Lowca, Whitehaven, Cumbria, CA28 6PH, with entry being £3 for Adults, £1 for Concessions, and Children are free.
