Women’s Southern and Midlands 2026 Seasons Draw to a Close

Women’s Southern and Midlands 2026 Seasons Draw to a Close

On Sunday 26th July, the Southern and Midlands Women’s Championships will reach their conclusion, with both competitions set for a full day of finals after competitive 2026 seasons.

Midlands Championship

The Midlands Championship has seen the introduction of Aston Warriors in 2026, an exciting addition to the game in the region. They will play off for third place against Coventry Bears.

In the main event, Leamington Royals and Telford Raiders will meet in a repeat of the 2025 final, clashing for the title after a tightly contested season that left only one point separating the teams going into the final round of games.

This season has seen some great development in the Midlands leagues, with the table closer than ever and a mere 9 points separating the top from the bottom going into the final round.

Southern Championship

After a tumultuous season marked by a number of changes, four teams have emerged strongly in the Southern Championship to play off for the top honours. Brentwood Eels will face Bedford Tigers in the battle for third place after some close-fought games throughout the season. In the Grand Final, the Army will face Bristol Golden Ferns in a repeat of the 2025 final.
