Betfred Women’s Challenge Cup Quarter-Final Preview

Betfred Women’s Challenge Cup Quarter-Final Preview

The Betfred Women’s Challenge Cup quarter-finals get underway this weekend as the competition heats up with the chance to play at the iconic Wembley Stadium drawing closer.

Kicking off the weekend are cup holders Wigan Warriors who host London Broncos on Saturday (KO 2pm).

The Broncos, who last met the Warriors in the 2025 group stages, are hoping they can put up a powerful fight and take their next step in the cup after falling short in last year’s quarter-finals.

But the Cherry and Whites have already been on strong form this season and are not looking ready to slow down any time soon.
Also fighting for a place in the semi-finals are St Helens who battle Barrow Raiders at BrewDog Stadium in a double-header with the men’s side (KO 2:30pm).

Raiders have taken the next step into the quarter-finals for the first time in their history of the Challenge Cup and now find themselves up against the cup’s most successful side in the quarters.

The pair have met several times across the years, with their most recent being in round 11 of last year’s Betfred Women’s Super League where St Helens prevented Barrow from putting a single point on the board.

The Raiders will be hoping they can overcome the impressive Saints and continue their historic run in the cup.
Saturday’s final game sees Cardiff Demons travel to face Leeds Rhinos for the first time at AMT Headingley Stadium (KO 3:15pm) in a double header with the men’s reserves team.

The Rhinos emerged from the group stages not only top of their group but also as the only team to have not conceded a point in the competition.
The Demons will be looking to be the first team to spoil that record as they fight to make it further than they have before and reach the semi-finals.
Rounding out the quarter-finals are York Valkyrie and Huddersfield Giants who meet on Sunday at LNER Community Stadium (26 April, KO 2pm).

Both sides have made a strong start to the cup with the Valkyrie finishing top of their group and the Giants making a dramatic comeback against Catalans Dragons to secure their place in the quarter-finals.

Whilst York have reached the final before, the Giants will too make history by making it to the competition’s semi-finals.
The pair have met many times in the Betfred Women’s Super League, with their recent meets involving some close calls.
With Wembley Stadium just two games away, it’s still all to play for ahead of the semi-finals on May 9/10.
