The Women’s Nines Festival returns on Saturday 2 May 2026 at Edge Hill University

The Women’s Nines Festival will make its widely anticipated return on Saturday the 2nd of May at Edge Hill University, Ormskirk. Bringing together the best of Women’s Rugby League for a thrilling, fun-packed, family?friendly day at Edge Hill University. 

Coined as ‘the ultimate celebration of ‘Women's Rugby League,’ the Women’s Nines Festival welcomes everyone. Whether you are a lifelong fan, player, or brand new to the sport the Women’s Nines Festival is a fantastic opportunity to celebrate and support in an uplifting environment like no other. 

This year’s festival will include two separate competitions: a Challenge Grade and a Community Grade. The introduction of these grades allows more community teams to get involved, whilst maintaining competitive and enjoyable matches for all participants. 

There is something for everyone at the Women’s Nines Festival. Alongside the on-field action, spectators can enjoy: 

• Live music from DJ Libby Nolan 
• Family-friendly activities and face painting 
• Merchandise 
• Food and refreshments 
• A vibrant, inclusive festival atmosphere 

Additionally, the RFL are delighted to be joined by The Digivan and Nutraprep who will be playing an instrumental role in the event, by live streaming the exciting action and fuelling teams with delicious and nutritious meals.
