Munster wins Fulton-Reilly Award

Munster wins Fulton-Reilly Award

Cameron Munster’s consistent contribution to Australia’s 3-0 victory in the 2025 ABK Beer Rugby League Ashes was recognised with the Fulton-Reilly Award.

The Award was introduced for the series to pay tribute to the immense contributions made to Ashes Rugby League by the late Bob Fulton AM and his great friend and former Manly team-mate Malcolm Reilly OBE.

Reilly was an honoured guest at AMT Headingley Stadium for the Third Test, and presented the award to Munster, who received seven of the 11 votes cast by members of the British and Australian media who had attended each of the three Tests.

Harry Grant, Munster’s Melbourne and Queensland team-mate who was named player of the match for the Third Test by the BBC commentary team, received two votes, and there was one each for Brisbane Broncos full-back Reece Walsh, and Sydney Roosters forward Angus Crichton.

Walsh was named player of the match in Australia’s First Test win at Wembley Stadium, where he scored two tries, and Munster received that accolade in the Second Test at Everton’s Hill-Dickinson Stadium.

The capacity attendance of 19,500 for the first Rugby League Ashes Test at Headingley Stadium since 1982 completed an aggregate attendance of the ABK Beer Rugby League Ashes of 132,418 – the highest for a Rugby League Ashes series since 1994, the third highest in history in the UK, and an increase of almost 87% on the aggregate for the last Ashes series in this country in 2003.
