New team set to be crowned champions as London and East Men’s Premier Division Grand Final takes place this Saturday

New team set to be crowned champions as London and East Men’s Premier Division Grand Final takes place this Saturday

The London & East Men’s Premier Division Final will take place this Saturday (30 August, KO 2.30pm) between Medway Dragons and Elmbridge Eagles.

It is set to be a tightly contested fixture, with first in the table, meeting second after a successful season for both sides.

Medway topped the league standings with an impressive 18 points. The teams have met on two occasions during the season, with Medway taking the points at home with a 38-28 win, and then recording a 30-16 win away at Elmbridge.

In the semi-finals, both teams fought off their opponents to book a spot in the Grand Final. Medway defeated Brixton Bulls 32-24, while Elmbridge convincingly beat Anglian Vipers 42-18 which will give them great confidence going into the final.

The 2025 season saw the merging of the East Men’s League and London Men’s League to strengthen the offer in the region and generate new competition for the teams involved. Neither Elmbridge nor Medway reached the 2024 final, so there will be a new team crowned champions this weekend.
