Academy Origin Squads Revised

Academy Origin Squads Revised

Lancashire and Yorkshire have each been forced into making changes for the second Male Pathways Academy Origin fixture of the season at Sewell Group Craven Park on Saturday week (August 2).

Lancashire, who won the first match of the year 40-22 in April, have been more disrupted, with injuries ruling out the Warrington duo Flynn Holden and Kian Stanton, Oscar Knox of St Helens and Finlay Yeomans of Wigan.

That means a call-up for Sam Hill, the outside back who has impressed at senior level for Salford Red Devils this season, as well as Oliver Polec of St Helens and the Wigan pair Lewis Daniels and Samuel Dickenson.

Yorkshire have been forced to make a single change, with Lewis Jagger of Huddersfield Giants replacing Jacob Hardy of Leeds.

The squads still include a number of players who have made an impact at senior level, including the Warrington Wolves half-back Ewan Irwin for Lancashire, while Yorkshire include Presley Cassell, the loose forward who made an impressive Super League debut for Leeds Rhinos last weekend.

The match kicks off at midday, the first part of an Origin double header followed by a senior Women’s fixture which precedes England’s one-off international against Wales at The Lextan Gnoll in Neath the following Saturday.

Both Origin fixtures will be shown live on the England Rugby League YouTube channel.
