Betfred League One Preview | Round 19

Betfred League One Preview | Round 19

It’s Round 19 of Betfred League One, and Workington Town will be hoping to make it five wins on the spin.

A resurged Town face North Wales Crusaders on Sunday, where the two points on offer are crucial for both sides. Anthony Murray’s men are aiming to consolidate their place in the Play-Offs, while the Crusaders are chasing down the chance to feature in the Play-Offs come the end of the regular season.

Their last meeting saw North Wales run out 34-32 victors – will we see another high-scoring affair in Cumbria?

Oldham are back in action at Boundary Park and will host Midlands. The current league leaders were put to the test against local rivals Rochdale last weekend, so should not underestimate the Hurricanes by any means.

It is also must win game for Midlands if they are to keep distance between themselves and the Crusaders in the table – as the race to the Play-Offs intensifies.

Then, Rochdale, who have won all three of their previous home meetings with Cornwall, will be looking to record a fourth when they welcome the Choughs to Crown Point Arena for a second time this season.

The Hornets will be hoping to claim a third win over their opponents in 2024 but will have to watch out for Cornwall’s Cameron Brown, who has scored tries in his sides’ last three meetings with Rochdale.

Elsewhere, Keighley and Newcastle will meet for the first time since Round 6 and Thunder will be hoping for a closer scoreline this time around. The Cougars, however, will want to keep in touching distance with Oldham at the top and need another strong win…
