In Round 17 of Betfred League One, Oldham recorded their highest attendance of the season and biggest since 2008, as 2,572 fans came to watch the top two clash with Keighley Cougars.
But it was the Roughyeds who enacted their revenge for Round 5’s defeat, as Sean Long’s men ran in seven tries on Sunday afternoon – stunning the Cougars with a sensational performance. Oldham now sit three points clear at the top of the League One table…
Workington Town made it three wins on the bounce with a comfortable win over Cornwall. Town came up with a five-try haul at The Memorial Ground, with Carl Forber successfully converting 5/5 from the boot.
Elsewhere, Hunslet recorded back-to-back victories with a big win over North Wales Crusaders.
Half-time at Colwyn Bay saw a closely fought scoreline of 10-12, but the West Yorkshire outfit went on to produce 34 unanswered points in the second half, with Jack Render completing a hat-trick and Joe Law bagging a brace.
Hunslet now occupy third spot, as they look to cement a Play-Off place.
And it was Rochdale Hornets who came away with the two points in Round 17 following a gutsy battle with Midlands.
It was a tale of two halves as the Hurricanes led 0-6 through Callum McClelland in the first forty. Following the break, two tries from Jordan Andrade and a Mackenzie Harman penalty goal would go on to help the Hornets return to winning ways.
