The competitiveness of the 2024 Betfred Championship continued in Round 16, with set of interesting results on show.
Toulouse Olympique are now just one point behind Sheffield Eagles in the table, as they made it nine games undefeated with a victory over Whitehaven.
But the game was much closer than the scoreline suggested, with both sides level at 24-24 heading into the final quarter. Two quick fire tries from Paul Ulberg and Paolo Dall'Asta, however, would then seal the win for the French side.
On Sunday, York Knights went an impressive four wins from five under Mark Applegarth's tenure, as they nilled the Dons on home soil. This result takes the Knights up to seventh place and only two points behind Featherstone Rovers in sixth.
Batley also returned to winning ways in style as they too make a late charge for a Play-Off spot and add pressure to the above teams. They beat Barrow at the Fox's Biscuits Stadium in Round 15, following a splendid second half display.
There was shock at Olympic Legacy Park, as Swinton Lions stunned second-placed Sheffield with a sensational win. Last gasp tries from Jordan Gibson and Jake Spedding edged the visitors in front, who held out to secure the two points and move away from the dreaded relegation zone.
Allan Coleman's Widnes breathed a sigh of relief on Sunday, as they bounced back with a win over Dewsbury. The Rams pushed their opponents all the way and were drawing 12-12, but the Vikings would go on and score 22 unanswered points in the final 30 minutes to ultimately run away with the match.
Finally, Featherstone and Wakefield scored 14 points a-piece in their Round 15 fixtures, which saw them earn gutsy victories over Halifax and Bradford, respectively.
