Community Rugby League heroes to be recognised in the 2024 National Volunteer Awards

The Rugby Football League is set to recognise the outstanding contributions of eight Community Rugby League heroes in the 2024 National Volunteer Awards.

Nominations will be open from July until late August with a number of categories up for grabs:

  • Volunteer of the Year
  • Coach of the Year
  • Junior Coach of the Year
  • Grounds Person of the Year
  • Women and Girls Volunteer of the Year
  • Social Impact Volunteer of the Year
  • Social Rugby League Volunteer of the Year (Masters, Touch, X-League)
  • Disability Rugby Volunteer of the Year

Nominations will be accepted via a link on the RFL website with the winners chosen by a panel of judges. All the winners will be presented with their awards at club events, which will also include an invite to the Betfred Super League Grand Final.

Any nominated volunteers must be registered on Gameday for the 2024 season to be eligible and coaches must be RFL qualified to be considered.

RFL Director of Development, Marc Lovering, says: “I’m really pleased that we can confirm the launch of the 2024 National Volunteer Awards. It’s so important that we thank and recognise our volunteers for their incredible service. They are the shining lights who make Community Rugby League possible.

“With eight categories up for grabs I would really encourage people to get involved and send in their nominations for who they believe is their volunteer of the year.”

All Community Clubs will be sent a nomination form when voting opens in July.
