The penultimate of Super League is now behind us, with sides still battling to finish in the highest position possible. Here is a closer look at how some of the England stars performed during the weekend.

St Helens edged a closely fought contest when they travelled to St Helens on Friday evening.

The Saints scored three tries during the 18-6 win. Jack Welsby and Jonny Lomax both assisted tries, meanwhile, centre Mark Percival got himself on the scoresheet. Defensively, Joe Batchelor was the top tackler with 38. Matty Lees was the joint second top tackler from the Saints side with 32.

In opposition, second rower, Matty Nicholson made 43 tackles.

Elsewhere on Friday, Wigan will head into the final round top of the table after a strong home win against Castleford Tigers.

Despite not getting a try, Toby King assisted three tries from his position at right centre.

Liam Marshall and Jake Wardle linked up for Wardle’s try. Marshall made 120 metres from 14 carries in the contest. Kai Pearce-Paul also scored for the Warriors.

Catalans Dragons produced a demolish job as they comfortably defeated Leeds Rhinos.

Tom Johnstone scored twice to take his Super League tally to 27 for the season. Johnstone made 151 metres from 13 carries. Fellow winger, Tom Davies also scored two tries making 147 metres.

Another player who made big metres was Mike McMeeken. The prop made 160 metres during the victory on Saturday evening.

Mikey Lewis assisted one of Hull KR’s two tries and also made 133 metres during their 12-0 home victory against Salford Red Devils.
