Featherstone Rovers extended their lead to six points at the top of the Betfred Championship table.

Sean Long’s side faced third placed, Sheffield Eagles, in a highly anticipated clash at the Millennium Stadium.

Featherstone took an early lead thank to tries from Josh Hardcastle and Luke Briscoe.

The Eagles struck back through Bayley Liu and Matty Dawson-Jones, which left the score at 10-10 heading into the break.

Dawson-Jones crossed for his second after the break.

But a Jack Bussey try and a second for Briscoe put Rovers back into the lead.

Ben Jones-Bishop hit back for Sheffield, which brought the visitors within two points with six minutes remaining.

With seconds remaining, Caleb Aekins sealed the 28-20 victory for Featherstone, who remain unbeaten in ten league matches.

On Saturday, Swinton shocked second place Toulouse.

A Jake Spedding try, was the only one of the first half with the Lions heading into the break with an 8-0 lead.

Louis Brogan scored seven minutes into the second half, which extended the Swinton Lions lead.

Ben Davies added two penalties, which was followed by a Jordy Gibson drop-goal, which saw Swinton pull away with a 19-0 lead.

Sitaleki Akauola and Dominique Peyroux hit back for Toulouse, but they were unable to bridge the gap.

Barrow Raiders produced a strong second half display to beat Bradford Bulls.

The Raiders trailed 6-4 at the break, however, they scored 42 second half points to beat Bradford 46-12.

Luke Broadbent crossed for a brace; meanwhile, full-back Luke Cresswell completed a hat-trick. 

The victory sees Barrow move up the table, with just their second league win of the season.

Halifax Panthers made the long trip to Newcastle worthwhile with a 36-16 success.

Joe Keyes scored twice on his 150th career appearance.

Betfred Championship top scorer, Lachlan Walmsley added was also among the scorers.

Keighley were another side who won on the road, as they defeated Whitehaven 32-24.

The Cougars took an early lead and stayed in-front for the entire contest.

Ben Crooks scored a double during the win. Keighley had a 28-12 lead at the break, before Whitehaven fought back in the second half.

York Knights survived a late scare, as they defeated London Broncos 30-28.

AJ Towse scored a hat-trick, meanwhile Ukuma Ta’ai scored on his 300th career appearance.

Former York player, Marcus Stock was among the scorers for London.
