Sheffield Eagles finished 7th in the 2022 Betfred Championship.
Mark Aston’s Eagles side won 12 of their 27 league fixtures, finishing one place below York Knights and the play-off places.
Their biggest win of the season came in round 20 against Workington Town, after four tries from Anthony Thackeray, combined with a further eight scores, saw Sheffield cruise to a resounding 64-4 victory.
During the off-season the club have been busy in the transfer market; Ireland international Oliver Roberts has joined from Newcastle Thunder, Aston’s son Cory and Titus Gwaze have arrived from Halifax Panthers, whilst the likes of Matty Dawson-Jones (Bradford Bulls) and Quentin Laulu-Togaga’e (Keighley Cougars) have also signed for the club.
Following this impressive recruitment drive, Head Coach Aston will be hoping his side can mount another play-off push this time around.
