Betfred League One Round-Up | September 18

Swinton Lions breezed into the Betfred League 1 promotion play-off final courtesy of a 32-12 victory over Doncaster.

Jack Hansen teed up Rhodri Lloyd with a short kick for the opening try then touched down himself after sweeping past Doncaster's defence, with Dan Abram adding the extras to both scores to set a new Lions record for the most points in a single season.

A nice move along the line allowed Mike Butt to dive over in the corner while Mitch Cox's converted effort saw Swinton go in at the break 22-0 ahead.

Alex Holdstock went over by the posts to give Swinton something to think about, while Doncaster reduced the deficit to just 10 points after Ben Johnston burst through the line and raced away to touch down.

Any sign of a dramatic comeback was extinguished as Louis Brogan defied Doncaster's defenders to muscle his way over the whitewash while Abram added a couple of penalties late on to add gloss to the scoreline.

Doncaster now go into the preliminary final to face Rochdale - with the winners to face Swinton - after the Hornets secured a 36-20 victory over North Wales Crusaders.

Dan Nixon scored two tries while Ben Calland, Fenton Rogers, Gregg McNally, Connor Aspey and Daniel Brewin also touched down for Rochdale, with Cian Tyrer adding three conversions and a penalty.

Gavin Rodden's brace of tries and one each for Patrick Ah Van and Matthew Fletcher - plus Tommy Johnson's two goals - were of little consolation for the Crusaders.
