Betfred Championship Round 22 Round-Up | Summer Bash

Betfred Championship leaders Leigh Centurions underlined their promotion credentials with a 46-16 win over second-placed Featherstone Rovers on Saturday.

Tries from John Asiata, Blake Ferguson and Caleb Aekins put Leigh 18-4 up, Joseph Leilua with the reply, before Leigh's Nene MacDonald and Rovers' Tyler Hepi were both red-carded.

Edwin Ipape and Connor Jones traded tries to make it 24-10 at half-time and Aekins crossed again along with Edward Chamberlain, Sam Stone, Joe Wardle and Lachlan Lam as Leigh pulled clear in the second half despite Sam Eseh's score.

Johnny Campbell scored four tries and Dale Morton two as Batley Bulldogs stormed to a 60-6 win over Dewsbury Rams in the highest-scoring of the Summer Bash fixtures at Headingley.

Luke Hooley, Alistair Leak, Dane Manning, Kieran Buchanan and Luke Blake also crossed, with the Rams' reply coming from Ben Mathiou.

Josh Guzdek and Kris Welham both claimed doubles in Sheffield Eagles' 38-12 win over London Broncos.

Substitute Blake Boadbent, Jason Bass and Ben Jones-Bishop also touched down with Guzdek kicking 10 points as Dalton Grant and Paul Ulberg crossed for the Broncos.

Halifax Panthers winger Zach McComb also helped himself to a brace in a 22-6 win over Bradford Bulls.

The Panthers took an early grip with tries from Ben Tibbs and Jacob Fairbank and McComb's contribution meant Kieran Gill's second-half effort was mere consolation.

On Sunday, Barrow plundered six tries as they came from behind to beat Widnes Vikings 36-24.

Winger Tee Ritson scored two of them with Shane Toal, Hakim Miloudi, Anton Iaria and Jarrod Sammut also crossing as Ryan Shaw kicked 12 points.

The Vikings had led 16-12 courtesy of tries from Danny Craven, Olly Davies and Matty Fozard, but Luis Roberts' score and four goals from Steve Tyrer were not enough to keep Barrow at bay.

Whitehaven winger Andrew Bulman scored twice to seal a 28-10 derby win over Workington Town.

Will Evans and Luke Broadbent also went over to secure the points, with Carl Forber scoring all of Town's points in reply.

York City Knights beat Newcastle Thunder 27-18 in the final game of the weekend.

Joe Brown gave the Knights an early lead and after substitute Ukuma Ta'ai and a two Jake Shorrocks goals put Thunder ahead, Brown doubled his tally to make it 10-8 at the break.

Matty Marsh and James Glover stretched the lead but Connor Bailey and Isaac Nokes hit back to set up a tense finish - only for Danny Kirmond to clinch victory for York.
