Barrow and Featherstone take Betfred Women's Super League to the Bash

Barrow and Featherstone take Betfred Women's Super League to the Bash

The Betfred Women’s Super League will enjoy another high-profile occasion next month when the match between Barrow Raiders and Featherstone Rovers is played at Headingley as part of the Summer Bash.

The game will kick off the action on day two of the Bash, Sunday July 31, at 1130am – meaning a double header for Barrow fans, as it is followed by the Raiders’ clash with Widnes Vikings in the Betfred Championship.

That match kicks off at 145pm and there is a real Cumbrian theme to the Sunday, with Whitehaven then taking on Workington Town at 4pm – before York City Knights and Newcastle Thunder round things off at 615pm.

Barrow Raiders have made an impressive start to their debut season as Cumbria’s first BWSL representatives under head coach Amanda Wilkinson, winning two of their first three games.

But they will have a tough test from Featherstone, who go into this weekend’s games joint top of Group Two with Warrington and Bradford, and will be keen to make up for the defeat they suffered against Huddersfield Giants on their last trip to Headingley in the Shield Final last autumn.

Premier Sports have confirmed that they will show all seven Betfred Championship matches during the Bash – the full programme is listed below.

The fixture between Whitehaven and Leigh in the previous round will no longer be shown by Premier Sports, allowing it to revert from Monday night to a Sunday afternoon kick-off (July 24, 3pm).

Tickets for the Betfred Championship Summer Bash are available from all 14 competing clubs, or centrally from the RFL – with prices starting at £20 for adults and £10 for concessions for day tickets, and £35/£17-50 for weekend tickets. Full details HERE.
