Greg Burke has signed a two-year contract extension with 2020 Coral Challenge Cup finalists Salford Red Devils.
Burke helped Salford to their first-ever Betfred Super League Grand Final in his first full season at the AJ Bell Stadium before featuring in the Coral Challenge Cup Final for the Red Devils at Wembley Stadium in October.
On the move, Burke said: “To do what we’ve done in two years has been unreal.
“We’ve gone from the middle-eights to reaching the Grand Final and the Challenge Cup Final and now we’ve got to keep competing.
“I’ve had some great memories here. I remember that semi-final win at Wigan felt like a home game, especially when the fans cheered at Mossop going over.
“That’s something that will stay with me forever, so we’re really excited to have them back with us next year.”
New Head Coach Marshall said: “Greg’s a tough, resilient player, who’s proved himself to be an asset with the ball in hand.
“From reports I’ve had, he’s also the kind of character that every club need, so I’m looking forward to working with him.”
Director of Rugby and Operations, Ian Blease, added: “Greg came here with a point to prove and has become an important part of the group.
“This season, I think he’s really shown how much he contributes when the team is under pressure, particularly in those tight Challenge Cup ties.
He’s one of the personalities that has helped us build the constructive environment we have here, so we’re really pleased that both and the club will now continue to grow together, over the next couple of years.”
