Leeds Rhinos earned an impressive 10-22 victory over Wigan Warriors in Liam Farrell’s testimonial fixture as both sides continued their preparations for the 2020 Betfred Super League season.
The Warriors took a 10-0 lead inside the opening 23 minutes with new signing Jake Bibby and Willie Isa crossing. However, Richard Agar’s men pulled level with tries from Richie Myler and Ash Handley.
Leeds would go on to seal victory in the closing stages of the game. Rhys Martin’s penalty goal edged them in front before two tries in the final seven minutes from Muizz Mustapha and Liam Sutcliffe ensured victory for the Rhinos.
Toronto Wolfpack put down a pre-season marker as they defeated 2019 Super League play-off contenders Castleford Tigers on Sunday afternoon at the Mend-A-Hose Jungle in Michael Shenton’s testimonial fixture.
While Sonny Bill Williams didn’t feature for the Canadian side, Gareth O’Brien, Joe Mellor and Blake Wallace were all on the scoresheet as Brian McDermott’s side came out on top. Tigers’ new signing Danny Richardson found the line alongside Sosaia Feki.

St Helens suffered defeat to London Broncos on two separate occasions last season, but they comfortably dispatched of the side from the capital this weekend in Louis McCarthy-Scarsbrook’s testimonial fixture.
Doubles from Mark Percival and Regan Grace alongside scores from Jack Welsby, Jonny Lomax and Joe Batchelor sealed a dominant victory for Kristian Woolfe’s side. Sadiq Adebiyi went over for the Broncos’ solitary try.
Hull Kingston Rovers earned a hard-fought victory over Featherstone Rovers on a sombre afternoon following the news of Mose Masoe earlier in the week. Will Dagger notched a brace with Jamie Ellis also scoring for the Robins. The Rovers had twice led with Jarrod O’Connor, Louis Jouffret and Gareth Gale scoring.
Catalans Dragons came out on top in an all-French affair on Saturday afternoon against Betfred Championship promotion hopefuls Toulouse Olympique.
Elsewhere, Hull FC hammered Batley 6-38, Sheffield Eagles won the South Yorkshire Cup against League 1 Doncaster, Whitehaven earned bragging rights in Cumbria with a 24-18 win over Workington, Dewsbury beat Bradford and Widnes Vikings were victorious against North Wales Crusaders.
