RFL recruiting media volunteer roles for Student RL

RFL recruiting media volunteer roles for Student RL

Universities Rugby League is building towards the 2021 Student World Cup and the Rugby Football League (RFL) is aiming to recruit digital media volunteers to help spread the word.

The RFL aims to recruit ambitious, talented year two and three students to help raise awareness of the student game across England and Wales. Volunteer roles are available in the following regions.

  • North East
  • North West
  • Yorkshire
  • Midlands
  • South East
  • South West/Wales

Volunteers will undertake a range of media work, including the production of digital content, liaising with universities and colleges, and building a network of reliable regional contacts. Placements will run from December 2019 to July 2020, with the possibility of continuing into the 2020/21 academic year.

For the right students this is an opportunity to:

  • gain valuable sporting sector experience working with a highly regarded national governing body;
  • develop skills and gain experience in sports media and PR;
  • improve employability after university or college;
  • develop a network of contacts within the sport;
  • receive regular support and mentoring from the RFL; and
  • become involved in major regional and national RFL events.

Expressions of interest will be accepted until Friday 8 November, 12noon.
