Castleford Tigers progressed to the Round Three of the Coral Women’s Challenge Cup with a 48-4 victory over local rivals Featherstone Rovers with Kelsey Gentles crossing for four tries.
Gentles said: “I’m buzzing to be honest.
“I didn’t think I had the legs to run full-lengthers but credit has to go to the girls I got some good passes that put me into the gaps.
“It was an amazing game and we got into a bit of a dog fight in the first half. We went into the changing rooms at half-time and we knew we needed to fix up a few things and find ourselves again because that’s not how we play.

“We sorted ourselves out in the second half with a bit more communication and managed to get the win.
“Featherstone are probably the most physical side in the Super League and we really did have to fight to get a quick play-the-ball and get them on their backs.
“I think they just got a bit tired in the second half and we took advantage of that.”
Castleford currently sit top of the Women’s Super League with four wins from four games and are now the first side in the Coral Women’s Challenge Cup Third Round draw.
“We’re only four games in and we’re so early in the season, but hopefully we can just keep winning and get some silverware at the end of the year,” Gentles said.
