The annual Brighton Rugby League 9s competition is set to get underway on 25 June and clubs from across the country are invited.
My Club Betting, the competition's new headline sponsor, are offering a £250 prize for first place, a figure which could rise to £500 if 20 teams sign up
The event, which has developed as a new way of growing Rugby League in the south east, has grown year on year and the competition's Event Director Nick Weston, who is also Chairman of Sussex Merlins, is aiming for it to be 'bigger than ever' in 2016.
"Each year this event has grown," he said.
"It has a dedicated weekend in the Rugby League calendar, guaranteed sunshine and a brewery as a key sponsor.
"Last year, Rugby League competitions from London and the South East, to the South West and East leagues made a gap in their league campaigns to support the competition.
"As such, we had teams such as Bristol Sonics and Cambridge Lions join the likes of London Chargers, Southampton Spitfires and Weald Warriors in taking part.
"We also had Oldham St Anne’s at the event to represent the north west last year and, in 2016, we want it to be bigger than ever before."
At least one international team will be in attendance at the event, while free camping for all teams is provided alongside a planned after party in Brighton, the 'party capital' of the UK.
The cost to enter is £100 per team.
"It’s a great event for a team tour and we have a women's competition as well as the open age men’s this year," added Weston. "It's the perfect mid-season weekend away!"
