Rugby League Community Players to be Rewarded Through the Rugby Football League’s Loyalty Programme - Rewards4Rugby League

Rugby League Community Players to be Rewarded Through the Rugby Football League’s Loyalty Programme - Rewards4Rugby League

Rugby League players at all levels of the community game will be able to claim rewards for the quality of their performances this summer, and even for taking the field, under a pioneering partnership with Rewards4, facilitated by InCrowd, which is thought to be a first for UK sport.

The Rugby Football League introduced a new membership participation scheme, Our League Active, for the 2022 season – and the RFL’s established partnership with Rewards4, the UK’s largest sports-based rewards programmes, is a perfect fit.

A new and exciting benefit has been launched within grassroots Rugby League which will enable 50,000 community players to be rewarded for simply participating in the sport.

Community players aged over 18 will receive points every time they play, score a try or kick a goal as part of their Our League Active membership via the RFL’s loyalty programme, Rewards4Rugby League. These points can then be used to make great savings with Betfred Super League, and the England national teams – on tickets, memberships and merchandise.

Nichola Spencer, the RFL’s Head of Membership, said: â€œThousands of Rugby League fans are already familiar with Rewards4 through our Rewards4Rugby League scheme which has been part of the development of the Our League web and app over the last few years. Now it’s great to be able to extend the offering to the Rugby League community game – and reward players at all levels for their success on the field, and even for getting involved.

“That’s what we’re all here for – to get people of all ages playing and enjoying sport. Linking up with Rewards4 is a way of providing an extra incentive.”

Tom Cowgill, Director and Co-Founder of Rewards4, said: “We are absolutely delighted that the RFL are using the Rewards4Rugby League platform to reward grass roots players and clubs who, as we know, are the beating hearts of their communities. In the first few weeks of introducing points to reward players and officials for participating in the game they love, over 1,000 have already received points and been rewarded.”

An integration between Rewards4 and the Our League app (powered by InCrowd) has provided a seamless member journey as community players over the age of 18 will not have to do anything to claim their reward – players just need to ensure they keep playing for their teams. Points will be automatically added to their Rewards4Rugby League account once the team scoresheet has been submitted on the RFL’s LeagueNet portal. For players who are under 18, registered parents will receive one email communication each month with a link to claim 50 points as a reward for their child registering and playing this season.

Darren Parsons, Senior Account and Insights Manager of InCrowd, said: â€œWe’re delighted to have enhanced the integration between the RFL and the Rewards4Rugby League programme, to deliver even more ways for the rugby league community to collect points to spend on the sport they love. The addition of rewarding participation follows on from users accumulating points for their interactions with other Our League features including polls, player of the match votes and the season long predictor game.”

This new benefit for community players has been launched in-line with the Our League Active membership, the RFL’s new membership scheme designed for Rugby League community players

Rugby League players will need to have a Rewards4Rugby League account which is FREE for all Rugby League supporters to use and enjoy. Sign up by visiting the Rewards4Rugby League website here.
